Tournament Rules

3v3 basketball tournament 🚨 official🚨

 
A. 3 on 3 Basketball is a half-court game played by two teams of three players each, including a maximum of one substitutes.
 
B. Only players who are listed on a team’s roster form may play. No alternate or pick-up players will be allowed. It is suggested that all teams include 4 players on their roster to decrease the chances of forfeited games.
 
C.🚨. Teams must take a ball back past the “free throw line” after each change of possession.🚨
 
D. Substitutions can be done by any team when the ball becomes dead, prior to the check-ball. The substitute can enter the game after his teammate steps off the court and establishes a physical contact with him. and then the game resume by check-ball
 
TOURNAMENT PLAY
1. Have Fun!!
2. Scoring is by 2’s and 3’s.
3. Two time outs per team per game.
4. A Division tournament games in the winners bracket are played to 30 win by
2, or first to 35.
A Division tournament games in the loser’s bracket will be played to 25 win by 2, or first to 30.
B Division tournament games in the winner’s bracket will be played to 25 win by 2, or first to 30.
B division tournament games in the loser’s bracket will be played to 21 win by 2:
 
5. Team rosters must consist of no more than 4 players.
6. Team forfeits after 5 minutes past starting time.
7. All decisions by Court Monitors are final.
8. All swearing will result in free throw & possession for the other team.
9. Fighting/excessive arguing will NOT be tolerated. Player(s) will be immediately ejected from tournament.
10. At least 3 team members must be present at the start of the game or the team will forfeit the game.
 
Ball
 
1. First possession to start game goes to winner of (coin toss, free throw, rock paper scissors)
2. Jump ball will result in alternate possession.
3. The ball must be checked after each dead ball.
4. The ball must be passed in after check.
5. Any ball out of bounds must be checked in at the top of the key.
6. Ball must be taken back behind three point line at top of key (free throw line extended)
 
Fouls
 
1. Fouls and violations are called by the officials.
2. The player fouled will be called immediately by the officials.
3. Violations (traveling, double dribbling, etc) are called by officials.
4. Any called by the officials is permanent
5. Bonus situation awarded on the 5th team foul consisting of 2 free throws.
6. Change of possession occurs after 2nd free throw, made or missed.
7. Flagrant fouls will be called at the discretion of the officials.
-1St Flagrant will result in an EJECTION, 2 Shots and possession
-2nd Flagrant will result in a FORFEIT
8. PlAYER CONDUCT ..Abusive and profane language will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate disqualification. Any abuse of the officials, coordinator, other players, or fans can warrant a technical foul called.

Basketball Rules

General Guidelines

🚨This is an Adult Basketball league therefore the league minimum age for players is 18 years of age by the start of the current regular season. No player under the age of 18 will be allowed to participate.🚨

GAME LENGTH:

🚨 Two 20 minute halves. Running clock for first 18 minutes of each half, with clock stopped on all whistles during the last 2 minutes (if team has a 20 or more point lead at any time during the last 3 minutes of the 2nd half, the clock will run continuously from that point until the end of the game.🚨

Uniforms:

🚨Teams MUST have matching uniform tops of similar color and a jersey number at least 4 inches or larger on the back of the jersey. Duplicate numbers are not permitted. Taped on numbers are not acceptable. Basketball/Tennis shoes must be worn. No hard soled shoes, sandals or bare feet are allowed.🚨

Substitution

When a player is subbed in for another player, he must check in with the scorer’s table before the substitution. Only the game Referees can beckon the subbed player to enter the game.

Referees/staff

  1. Two (2) Referees will be requested for each game and a scorekeeper will be scheduled
  2. Should an official be late or not able to be at the game, the game will begin on time with one (1) Referee .
  3. Staff member will keep the scorebook, and run the clock and has the final authority on decisions that may need to be made. Failure to comply with the decisions may result in forfeiture of a game or the team being dropped from the league/playoffs.

Rosters

Only players on the roster and that have signed the waiver are allowed to play in the playoffs. Teams can add to their roster any time prior to the season game but the last game of the season. roster will be close before playoffs start

Game format

  • 5-on-5, full-court
  • Two (2) Twenty (20) minutes halves
  • Two time outs per half for each team. In overtime, each team will have one timeout.
  • Continuous running clock, however the clock will stop for 2 minutes dead ball situation, timeouts, and injury timeouts
  • 10-minute warm-up for teams who follow the prior game
  • Overtime is three (5) minutes

Game Rules

Games will be officiated according to the High School League Rules.

  1. Teams not fielding five players at game time may play with four players. If one of the four players fouls out, the team must forfeit. If the fifth player shows up late for the game, then they can play immediately by entering the game at the next dead ball.
  2. Each team will be allowed two timeouts per half. Timeouts cannot be carried over to the next half. One Timeout will be allowed in an overtime
  3. Each player will be allowed five fouls. The bonus occurs on the seventh foul and for subsequent fouls each half. The double bonus begins with the tenth foul.
  4. The first possession will be determined by a jump ball. Alternating possessions following thereafter. Each overtime period will begin with a jump
  5. Foul shots are on the release of the ball.
  6. All Technical fouls will be automatic two shots for the opposing team and the ball out-of-bounds. Technical fouls are also counted as personal fouls. Two (2) technical fouls on a player/coach will result in automatic disqualification for the remainder of the game and must leave the premises. The player/coach will also be disqualified for the next league or playoff game

    A technical foul may be called for any of the following actions

A. FLAGRANT- Where a player makes unnecessary aggressive physical contact with an opposing player, which, in the opinion of an official, may result in serious injury to the opponent. This type of foul will result in immediate disqualification of the offending player for the remainder of the game and the next scheduled league/playoff game.

B. VERBAL OR BEHAVIORAL- Where a player or coach verbally abuses or taunts an opposing player, coach, official, or spectator.

Behavioral foul examples include: slamming the ball into the floor or kicking it in frustration after a play, kicking chairs or other items along the bench, or fighting. Depending on the severity of the verbal abuse or behavior, the game officials may disqualify the player/coach from the game after the first (1) infraction.

C. INTENTIONAL- Where a player commits a physical foul that is not a legitimate attempt to directly play the ball or player. (Examples are holding an opponent to stop play, pushing an opponent in the back to prevent a score when there is no chance, or committing an obvious hard foul on a player with no intention of playing the ball or player during a press to stop the clock.)

🚨Any Players ejected from any game and serve a one or more game suspension could be allowed back to the game once the officials and staff okay with the player coming back to the game but the player must pay a $50.00 fine

. All fines will be paid to the League Representative the same day the technical fouls occur.🚨
